Elevator Technician Wanted – Cayman Islands


Job Title: Elevator Technician Department: Elevator Reports To: Operations Manager Wage Range: $35.00 to $44.00 per hour Job Summary: Elevator installation, modernization and repair of major brands of elevators including Otis, Dover and ThyssenKrupp. Installation of commercial and home elevators. Education and/or Experience: • Trade Certification from an internationally recognised technical institute with hands on experience of 6 to 10 years. Factory training a plus. • Well developed customer-relations skills. • Ability to work and perform as a team leader with strong motivational, supervision and training skills. • Ability to read blue prints including architectural and structural and electrical schematics. • Good computer skills. • Three trade references are required with one from your last employer. • A current and detailed resume together with copies of most relevant trade credentials required • Must be physically fit and have no impediment from getting health insurance coverage, possess a clean driving record and willing to work unsocial hours when needed. Remuneration & benefits: • Competitive starting rates are offered in the range of US $35.00 to $44.00 per hour which will be negotiated taking into account the applicant’s work history and technical qualifications. • Possible higher rate if the technician is also an adjuster • Six month initial contract. A performance review will be completed after 5 months service (or earlier should a recommendation be received from the management team), with a view to applying for a 2-year work permit. • Use of a Company vehicle • No income taxation. • World-wide medical, dental and vision benefits –50% premium paid by Company. • Workmen’s Compensation and Public Liability Insurance held by the Company. • Reimbursement of airfare to take up position and reasonable costs for the importation of personal hand tools. • Reimbursement of all direct expenses related to securing a work permit such as medical, police clearance certification and photographs. • Initial 30 days’ accommodation included – utilities only to be paid by employee. Initial 3 or 6 month contracts tied to temporary work permits are single status but it is not impossible to have a partner join you especially if they are able to secure employment and their own work permit.
